What is Carpet Flooring?
Carpet flooring is a manufactured product offered in several fiber options including Wool, Nylon, Olefin, and Polyester. It is produced in both rolls for residential use and squares for commercial use. Synthetic fibers make up more than 99% of the fiber used by the U.S. carpet industry. Each fiber has attributes for strength and resilience. The construction of carpet flooring is what makes it durable. Loop Pile Carpet has dense, looped strands of carpet fibers making it a very durable low-profile style (i.e. Berber) that is ideal for high-traffic areas. Cut Pile Carpet has had the looped strands cut creating two separate carpet fiber tufts. It tends to be softer than loop pile and is offered in multiple types: Plush; Saxony; Textured; Frieze and Shag.
